Thing #23- Hello honey...I'm home!
I will challenge myself with the Seven1/2 habits daily, almost like a checklist in my mind now. It seems the more I learn the more I want to learn and I hope it never ends. My husband always said I could be a perpetual student.
I found Technorati dauting at first. Wikipedia was interesting and PBwiki along with surveymonkey will probably change the face of the earth very soon.
I plan on reviewing everything that I learned again and then once again. I would love to do 43 things also. I may do another blog too. This one was fun and if it came across badly...I had a good excuse....from Nutty Pecan...that's not really me! Fine tuning like a taut string instrument is my next goal...and I can't wait to get started again and start strumming.
Thank-you administrative staff Louisa, Michele, Barb and Carlton for giving us this chance to really put our heart and souls into something. It was a fun experience and kept me out of trouble ...at least for awhile.
Sincerely.....from the Pecan Podcast

I posted my grocery list from Sparkpages onto an on-line application so I have a handy document to tally the items needed from the store. I can set it up so it is an on-going online application in Google spreadsheets....now maybe my schedule can too be posted so I can view it anywhere...that is possible right? I know there is a mini love affair between google docs and myself right now.

Thing Number 15 - Libraries of the future
The Future of Libraries.....that crytal ball is hidden where the library cat last left it when playing...except it has been disquised as a ball of yarn that some are kicking aside as too difficult to unravel. From the cat's point of view, unraveling the tangled skein is the future of libraries and of course now more involved cat's play .

RSS, Newsreaders and Thing No.8
Okay I did this one for me.....now that I just discovered how easy it is to find daily news on just about any topic around.
Being in the arena for information gathering....makes me feel......pretty darn good.
So here's the text for the full article....I hope you feel motivated to do something different in this hot weather.
When I’m exercising at the gym (or on my treadmill at home), it really feels like there is only one reward, the benefits of exercise. When I’m outside hiking, there are so many benefits that I can barely list them all. When I am hiking in the Wasatch Mountains, I forget that I’m exercising. Suddenly, the huge incline isn’t just a setting on my treadmill. It’s a mountain I have to conquer. Here are just a few of the rewards that hiking has to offer:
Exercise seems less difficult: This can be a two-edged sword, because when I get back from my hike, I usually end up sore for a couple of days. I don’t feel the extra effort when I’m out hiking, but I certainly feel it the next day.
There’s a reason for the exercise: All exercise has a reason, but when you’re hiking up a trail, there is a destination in mind, such as the end of the trail, or maybe you want to go as far as the waterfall. Whatever the destination, there usually is one, which makes exercise seem more important.
It can be social: You can bring your family and have one of those family memories that last for years. It wasn’t just exercise, it was a reason to get together.
You get to see pretty stuff: Instead of watching television or staring at the wall while I exercise, I see all sorts of beautiful and interesting things, when I’m hiking. For an example of this, read about Tom Mangan’s most recent hike: Two-Heel Drive: Latest hike: Portola Redwoods State Park.
You feel like you went on an adventure: I don’t know about you, but I don’t go on the trails in my area very often. Even though they are only a few minutes’ drive, I tend to just exercise at home more often than not. When I do go on a hike, I end up feeling like I had an adventure, even though it only took me a couple minutes longer to drive there than to drive to the gym.
If you are feeling like you are bored with your exercise routine, plan a hiking trip next weekend. Find the trails that are near your town and take a hike. You’ll feel refreshed and come home with a camera full of interesting pictures. If you do, please share them here

The Lightbulb Moment
What seems so difficult at first......then becomes so easy...it's only to lift your eyes up to the big picture.
This post I shall call "The very end of picture posting frustration"...sometimes it's a matter of ready all those little, itsy bitsy....things like....please check-mark this box if you agree to the terms above.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
"If you are lost...just keep going....you're making good time."
Okay I read this somewhere...and it stuck with me....I figured the picture seemed to put into perspective what it feels like....I am shooting into cyberspace not knowing which way to turn...so maybe it all straight up with no turns.
Techno Tip: Do you know if you right click on the picture you want ( of course be careful about those that are copywrited) and then click properties....it is quite easy to cut and paste this html picture into a post.

Hello from Pecan's Pod
Wishing you all a wonderful journey on this challenge...and see you all on staff day....I'll definitely be there to pick up my M3player....
I enjoyed listening to 7 1/2 habits of lifelong learning. It will be something that I know I will review many times in my life. Awareness is the key to success in my book.
The habit that is easiest for me is of course play and the habit that I find most difficult is Habit #3. It's conditioning to use the mind and view obstacles and problems as challenges rather than as 'just one more task' that needs to be completed.
