Thing #23- Hello honey...I'm home!

It took me awhile....purposely. I wanted to savor every moment of this challenge. My thoughts about all of this are that is was an amazing journey through Library 2.0. I loved every moment of it. The practical points of it all are that I have already been able to use it on my job. I have been able to help patrons with downloading pictures, suggesting students to use on-line documents for sharing with their teachers. I suggested to a young student writer to use googledocs or zohowriter for her creative compositions because she then did not have to worry about losing or misplacing her flash drive.
I will challenge myself with the Seven1/2 habits daily, almost like a checklist in my mind now. It seems the more I learn the more I want to learn and I hope it never ends. My husband always said I could be a perpetual student.
I found Technorati dauting at first. Wikipedia was interesting and PBwiki along with surveymonkey will probably change the face of the earth very soon.
I plan on reviewing everything that I learned again and then once again. I would love to do 43 things also. I may do another blog too. This one was fun and if it came across badly...I had a good excuse....from Nutty Pecan...that's not really me! Fine tuning like a taut string instrument is my next goal...and I can't wait to get started again and start strumming.
Thank-you administrative staff Louisa, Michele, Barb and Carlton for giving us this chance to really put our heart and souls into something. It was a fun experience and kept me out of trouble ...at least for awhile.

Sincerely.....from the Pecan Podcast

Thing#22- Netlibrary

Well I am finally here at Netlibrary. I created an account and downloaded a few e-books, also I checked out the audio ones and am finding it very easy and interesting at the same time. I found some interesting titles...for example just off the top of my head put in 'butterflies' with an asterisk and found a great book I will eventually read virtually. I love the audio books and will use the portable media player (MP3) to transport this material especially on long hikes with my black lab.

Thing # 21- Podcasts

I used yahoo podcasts and techochild for locating podcast. I have spent the about two weeks listening to different podcast work. I used 'libraries' as a tag and have found out some interesting things about podcasting. On one cast, members can log-into the podcast network and be part of the 'live' show over the internet. Of course you need a library card and a password number to get in.

I have located some great podcasts for health and wellness and plan on downloading these all to my MP3 player very soon. I can't wait.

Thing #19

I used the short and the complete list to the award winning sites. I have found so much information here that I will keep this as a permanent link. It is so valuable that I have recommended it to family members. I have used Pandora for creating a music station on my laptop, Odeo and Yahoo podcasts for music and podcasting. I have logged into Peer Trainer for a good look at my accountability when it comes to healthy eating and exercise. Peer Trainer could work in a library setting to create an on-line community with fellow co-workers with regards to keeping fit and eating right. It takes time to set these up and work through the maze of knowledge and suggestions.
